Chief Executive Officer of Ashitech Conglomerate, Chief Dr Terkura Suswam, has appealed to the people of Minda axis of Benue State to dialogue and prune down the number of governorship aspirants from the area.
He made the appeal when one of the aspirants, Chief Dr. Samuel Ortom, Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, visited him at Ashiwaves Radio Station in Katsina-Ala last Friday.
The sole contender to the Tor Sankera traditional stool stated that although he supported power shift to the Minda block what happened at the PDP primaries of 2007 where no aspirant could obtain two third of the votes might repeat itself if the number of aspirants from the axis was not reduced.
He described the Minister who also supervises the Aviation Ministry as an all rounder who had the requisite experience in politics, business and public life coupled with sound education attributes he said made him qualified to be governor.
Chief Dr Suswam recounted his longstanding political ties and collaboration with the Minister and said he cannot in good conscience work against his aspiration.
The Radio Benue Board Chairman advised the aspirant who is contesting on PDP platform to make wide consultations in the Sankera area assuring that stakeholders from the entire constituency will eventually meet and take a decision on who to support to be Governor of the state.
He said even though people are supporting different aspirants at the moment eventually only God will crown one person since power belongs to him.
Speaking earlier Chief Dr Samuel Ortom recalled the positive contributions of Governor Gabriel Suswam to his political career as well as patronage of his business assuring that he will always stand by the Governor.
He solicited the PDP chieftain's support adding that he would consolidate on the solid foundation which Governor Suswam has laid in the state.
The minister said his priorities would be to add value on all sectors particularly wealth and opportunities through industrialization.
