He spoke at a reception after a church service at St Lucy's Catholic Mission, Ge, Mbayem in Ushongo local government area.
Chief Dr. Ortom who is Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment and Supervising Aviation Minister acknowledged that if realized the late Aku's industrialization dream would propel the state into unprecedented levels of development.
The Minister who is aspiring on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, expressed happiness that Governor Gabriel Suswam has provided the infrastructural base upon which someone with his experience as an industrialist and minister in the relevant ministry with exposure and extensive connections could build.
He stated that the initiative, in partnership with private investors, was one that would tackle unemployment with the attendant youth restiveness through wealth and opportunities creation.
Chief Dr Ortom promised that he would govern with the fear of God who lifted him from the Gboko Motor Park to his present position, if elected, adding that if Christians obeyed Biblical injunctions their lives would be better.
In his sermon during the service the Parish Priest, Rev Fr. Emmanuel Nyitar, enjoined Christians to yield to the Holy Spirit who would enable them to do what was right.
He commended Chief Dr. Ortom for always responding positively to calls to make contributions to God's work and prayed that he would be granted the desires of his heart.
In his remarks James Terver Kumbur, alias Jimdek who initiated the thanksgiving service for surviving the amputation of one of his legs said Chief Dr Ortom reached out to him in hospital during his hour of need.
He said the minister was a genuine Christian who can be entrusted with the people's mandate and urged the people of the state to elect him.
